A little bit about our story:
We are a family of 4, Darcy (a landscaper) Ella (a teacher), Dusty (a full time toddler) and Jiggy (goo-goo gah-gah specialist). We are major foodies, devoted travellers and big believers in the simple things. We lived in Italy and Spain for 5 years and fell in love with pizza. Raw, organic ingredients that when put together, become something amazing. Around 6 years ago, Ella started baking sourdough bread, using a starter passed down through family and developed quite a knack for it. Instead of throwing away the sourdough discard we began using it as a pizza base, cooking in the oven or on the gas bbq, and they were ‘pretty good’. A few months later, Ella began making sourdough bases exclusively for pizza, and we started cooking over fire. This changed everything. Cooking over flames changes everything about food, it’s the way food should be cooked. We started sharing our pizzas with friends, and developed a love for it. ‘Wilde Fire Pizza’ was born.
The name derives from Dusty’s middle name. Our daughter Dusty Wilde was born during this period. In our logo, you will see hidden in the flame is the shape of a ‘WF’.
Our business objective is to bring good food, with the freshest and most ethically sourced local ingredients, hand stretched, 48 hour fermented sourdough bases cooked with love in a wood fired oven. Couple all that with good friends, good drink and good chat and you have a recipe for happiness.
